House Judiciary Committee approves 27-1 the Register of Copyrights bill

Judiciary Committee in the US House of Representatives has approved on
March 29 by a vote of 27-1 the bipartisan Register of Copyrights
Selection and Accountability Act (H.R. 1695), introduced the week before by
Chairman Bob Goodlatte and Ranking Member John Conyers, Jr. This
legislative step paves the way for the bill to be discussed and voted by
the House.

US House of Representatives passes the TICKET Act to regulate concert ticket prices

The United States House of Representatives passed the Transparency In Charges for Key Events Ticketing Act or TICKET Act, which will "require sellers of event tickets to disclose comprehensive information to consumers about ticket prices and related fees, and for other purposes."

NMPA calls on Spotify to remove all unlicensed lyrics, music videos, and podcasts from the streaming platform

The National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Spotify on May 15 requesting that the streaming service removes unlicensed music files that allegedly infringe upon its members' copyrights.
