A US District Court dismissed a copyright infringement lawsuit filed against Nickelback and music publisher Warner Chappell Music by singer and songwriter Kirk Johnston, from the band Snowblind Revival, who claimed that the Canadian rock band ​copied his 2001 song 'Rock Star' in their namesake song, released on Nickelback’s 2005 album 'All the Right Reasons'.

Konstantine Lois and Shane Williams, two songwriters and artists who perform under the name American XO, have dropped a copyright infringement lawsuit they had initiated against Benny Blanco, Halsey, Khalid and Ed Sheeran.
