CMRRA inks licensing deal with TikTok covering mechanical rights in Canada

The Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency (CMRRA) has signed a licensing agreement with short-form video platform TikTok for the collection of digital mechanical royalties in Canada. CMRRA said the deal will deliver "a new revenue stream for music publishers and self-published songwriters."

CISAC elects Kazuhiko Fukuoji and Ángeles González-Sinde Reig as Vice-Presidents

Japanese painter Kazuhiko Fukuoji and Spanish screenwriter, director, illustrator, and children’s author Ángeles González-Sinde Reig have been elected Vice-Presidents of CISAC, the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers.

The two creators were elected by the CISAC General Assembly, held in Mexico City on 1 June. They replace Chinese film director Jia Zhang-Ke and Spanish visual artist Miquel Barceló who did not seek re-election.
