The BBC has announced that it will "suspend" the decision to shut down the BBC Singers, the public broadcaster's full-time professional chamber choir.

The BBC's decision — triggered by a need to cut costs — drew widespread criticism, including from the UK's most prominent music publishing houses —Faber Music, Boosey & Hawkes and Wise Music Group. Warner Music Czech Republic has renewed its partnership and invested in local hip-hop label Mike Roft, the company set up by Czech artists Calin and D-Kop, and video director and graphic designer Radim Zboril, who will remain investors in the venture and will continue to manage it as an independent label.

London-based music companies Marathon Artists and Transgressive Publishing have signed British punk band HotWax to, respectively, a recording agreement and a global music publishing deal.
