APRA AMCOS’ 2020-21 revenues up 6.8% to A$506.9m thanks to strong growth from audio and video streaming

Australasian music rights management organisation  APRA AMCOS has distributed A$442.6 million in royalties in 2020-21 to songwriters, publishers, affiliated societies and rights holders (net distributable revenue), up 8.7% from 2019-20 figures, with total collections reaching A$506.9m, according to the society's 2020-21 Year in Review report.

The MLC will release a monthly list of the top 1,000 unmatched sound recordings

Nashville-based Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) has launched a new opt-in feature for its members by making available a monthly list of the top 1,000 unmatched sound recording uses based on their calculated royalty value.

According to The MLC, this will provide members "with another way to search our unmatched data and look for uses of their works."

Belgian rights society SABAM appoints Steven De Keyser as its new CEO

Steven De Keyser has been appointed as the new CEO of SABAM, the Belgian Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers. He replaces Carine Libert who served as CEO between 2018 and August 2021.

De Keyser joins from reproduction rights society Reprobel, which he served as CEO since 2019. Reprobel merged with Auvibel in 2021.
