Elvis Costello picks BMG to administer worldwide his songwriting catalogue

British songwriter and performer Elvis Costello has inked a worldwide, exclusive music publishing deal with BMG covering his whole body of work.

Under the agreement, BMG will administer the rights to all of Costello's songs, from his debut album 'My Aim Is True', released in 1977, to his latest album 'The Boy Named If', release in January 2022. The catalogue includes songs featured on over 32 studio albums, of which 12 have charted in the UK Top 10.

Bob Dylan sells his recording catalogue to Sony Music

Sony Music Entertainment has fully acquired Bob Dylan’s entire back catalogue of recorded music, in a deal estimated to be in the region of $200 million, according to Billboard.

Bob Dylan said, “Columbia Records and [Sony Music Group Chairman & CEO] Rob Stringer have been nothing but good to me for many, many years and a whole lot of records. I’m glad that all my recordings can stay where they belong.”
