Global SVoD market to add 550 million subscriptions by 2027 to reach 1.75 billion

Global SVoD subscriptions will increase by 550 million between 2021 and 2027 to reach 1.75 billion, according to the latest projections from Digital TV Research. The two leading markets will be China and the US, accounting together for about 48% of the world’s total by 2027. The US market alone with add 104 million new subscriptions in the US in the next five years to reach 456 million subscriptions in 2027.

Stockholm-based music personalisation platform for games and interactive media Reactional Music has been awarded a €2.5 million grant from the European Innovation Council (EIC). The EIC has also allocated up to €6.5m in future equity to match incoming capital. If fully exercised, this would bring the total potential EIC-backed funding to up to €9m.
