China’s iQiyi posted profits in Q1 2022

Chinese video streaming company iQiyi — partly controlled by Chinese tech giant Baidu — has posted revenues of RMB7.3 billion ($1.1bn) during the first quarter of 2022, down 9% year-on-year, with net income of RMB169m ($26.7m), against a loss of RMB1.3bn in the same period in 2021.

The service counted 101.4 million subscribing users at the end of March 2022, against 105.4 million for the same period in 2021.

IMPALA urges Apple to reconsider plans to enhance royalty rates via spatial audio

Music Story seals data partnership with Japan’s streaming service Line Music

France's music metadata company Music Story has sealed a partnership with Japan’s subscription-based music streaming service Line Music, in a deal that will allow Line Music to improve the customer experience with Music Story’s metadata.
