ByteDance files for ‘TikTok Music’ trademark with the USPTO

ByteDance, the parent company of short format app TikTok, is reportedly exploring the opportunity to launch a music app, following the filing of a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for a service called TikTok Music that would allow for "purchase, play, share, download music, songs, albums, lyrics."

France's music metadata company Music Story has sealed a partnership with Japan’s subscription-based music streaming service Line Music, in a deal that will allow Line Music to improve the customer experience with Music Story’s metadata.
