Facebook introduces a Music Revenue Sharing scheme for video creators

Meta has introduced a Music Revenue Sharing programme, which will give video creators the opportunity to earn money by including licensed music in their videos on Facebook. Music Revenue Sharing will start rolling July 25 to video creators globally.
With Music Revenue Sharing, creators using licensed music in their videos on Facebook that are 60 seconds or longer can earn money on certain videos through in-stream ads, with a share of revenue going back to the music rights holders.

Disney channels return to YouTube TV

The Walt Disney Co. and YouTube have signed a multi-year distribution agreement that will bring back Disney-owned channels to YouTube TV. The new deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, puts an end to a dispute about per-subscriber rates, which resulted in Disney pulling out its content from Google's video streaming platform early November 2024.

Deezer-commissioned survey shows consumers want AI music tagged as 50,000 AI-generated tracks are added each day

The volume of AI-generated tracks uploaded to music streaming platforms has accelerated over the past two months, with over 50,000 fully AI-generated tracks uploaded each day to Paris-listed music streaming service Deezer, accounting for 34% of daily uploads.
