Reps. Johnson and Bowman introduce the RAP Act to protect artists from the wrongful use of lyrics in court cases

US Congressmen Hank Johnson (D-GA) and Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) have introduced in the House of Representatives the Restoring Artistic Protection Act (RAP Act) aimed at protecting artists "from the wrongful use of their lyrics against them in criminal and civil proceedings." The co-sponsors of the bill said this legislation was "the first bill of its kind at the federal level."

Parliament report calls on UK Government to introduce a private copying scheme

A report from British Parliament's House of Commons' Culture, Media and Sport (CMS) Committee has made several recommendations to ensure that creators receive fair remuneration for their works, in particular through the introduction of a private copying scheme.
