Warner Music Group joins in SoundCloud’s fan-powered royalties system

The user-centric payment system (UCPS) for streaming royalties has received a boost with the decision from Warner Music Group (WMG) to sign a a global licensing deal with SoundCloud, by which artist across WMG’s roster could be paid based on fan listening behavior on the music streaming platform.

Jeronimo Folgueira, the CEO of Deezer, will leave the Paris Euronext-listed music streaming service at the end of March 2024, according to a statement from the company's Board of Directors.
