Crunch Digital launches music publishing clearance and curation platform Tempo

Music rights management company Crunch Digital has launched its beta version of Tempo, a multi-dimensional sound recording curation and music publishing clearance platform.

Tempo is described as a tool that can "instantly confirm what music can be used under existing licenses with record labels and publishers." Tempo beta version is now available for free in advance of Crunch Digital’s roll out of its commercial subscription-based service this fall.

PPL paid out £244.9 million to performers and labels in 2022, up 7.1% over 2021

British neighbouring rights society PPL has distributed £244.9 million (€278.3m) to its members — performers and owners of sound recordings — and other collective management organisations in 2022, up 7.1% over 2021's £228.7m.

PPL said the figure marks the second highest total of monies paid out by PPL in a calendar year, the highest being £260.2m in 2020, a total achieved thanks to the record collections of £271.8m the previous year in 2019, before the adverse impact of the COVID pandemic.

Orfium acquires cue sheets management company Soundmouse

Revelator picks Stripe to provide NFT payment infrastructure

Rights management platform Revelator has partnered with Stripe to provide payment infrastructure for NFTs.

Stripe will allow people to use a credit card to purchase digital collectibles directly from artists, with no additional digital wallet required.
