Exceleration Music has named Jennifer Newman Sharpe as its Head of Legal & Business Affairs and General Counsel. She joins from ONErpm, where she served as General Counsel and Head of Business Affairs.

Based in New York, she reports to the Exceleration partners collectively — Glen Barros, Amy Dietz, John Burk, Dave Hansen and Charles Caldas, who launched Exceleration to invest in the future of independent labels and artists.

Kobalt plans to raise $266.5m by collateralising music royalties

Music publishing and asset management company Kobalt Music Group plans to raise $266.5 million by issuing a class of notes through Kobalt Music Assets and collateralising the transaction with royalties from a music catalogue of over 5,000 songs from artists and songwriters such as AJR, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Busta Rhymes, and Jessie J.

BMG signs American band New Kids on the Block to a global recording agreement

American band New Kids on the Block have signed a new global recordings agreement with BMG to release their first new studio album in more than a decade.
