The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) has issued its first annual report since its launch on January 1, 2021. The MLC was created by the Music Modernisation Act of 2018 to license and administer online mechanical rights on behalf of songwriters and music publishers. French rights society SACEM celebrated its 175th anniversary by gathering at its headquarters in Neuilly-sur-Seine creators, policy-makers and industry personalities for the inaugural SACEM Day. PPL collected £315.3m in neighbouring rights in 2025, up 4.75% year-on-year

British neighbouring rights society PPL has generated revenues in 2025 up 4.75% year-on-year to £315.3 million (€362.0m). Growth in 2025 was driven by "a strong international performance and stable income across public performance, broadcast and online licensing in the UK."
