French rights society SACEM celebrated its 175th anniversary by gathering at its headquarters in Neuilly-sur-Seine creators, policy-makers and industry personalities for the inaugural SACEM Day. The event was the occasion to reaffirm France's attachment to cultural exception, the sanctity of authors' rights, the need to enforce European cultural and tech sovereignty and the importance to establish a different framework for AI that respects the rights of creators.

PPL collected £315.3m in neighbouring rights in 2025, up 4.75% year-on-year

British neighbouring rights society PPL has generated revenues in 2025 up 4.75% year-on-year to £315.3 million (€362.0m). Growth in 2025 was driven by "a strong international performance and stable income across public performance, broadcast and online licensing in the UK." SOCAN distributed CA$512m in 2025 from revenue of CA$587.1m, up 5% y-o-y

Canadian rights society SOCAN has collected CA$587.1 million (€361.77m) in 2025, a 5% increase over 2024, and distributed CA$512m (€315.7m) in royalties to songwriters, composers and music publishers, the same amount as the previous year.
