US Justice Department urges court to block $2.2 billion merger of Penguin Random House with Simon & Schuster

The US Justice Department (DoJ) has argued that the $2.2 billion merger of two of the five biggest book publishers — Bertelsmann's Penguin Random House with Paramount Global's Simon & Schuster — will significantly reduce options for writers to get their books published and claim significant advances.
