Hong Kong’s Copyright (Amendment) Bill scheduled to pass by the end of the year

David Wong, Director of Hong Kong's Intellectual Property Department, expects the Copyright (Amendment) Bill 2022 to be passed by the region's Legislative Council (LegCo) before the end of the year.

Speaking to RTHK at the 12th Business of Intellectual Property Asia Forum, Wong said, “We are striving for the passage of the copyright amendment bill in 2022, to strengthen copyright protection in the digital environment.”

The UK’s CMA completes its market study into music and streaming services without calling for a full market investigation
