Africa’s streaming service Mdundo claimed 21.5m active users at the end of Q3 2022

Mdundo, the music streaming service covering Africa, has claimed 21.5 million active users (MAUs) at the end of September 2022, a 107% growth rate year-on-year. A year before, the platform had 10.4 million MAUs. The largest country in terms of number of monthly active users was Nigeria with over 6.5 million monthly users, followed by Kenya, South Africa and Tanzania. Netflix posted revenue of $45.2 billion in 2025, up 16% year over year, boosted by fourth quarter revenue of $12.1bn, up 17.6% over the same quarter a year prior, thanks to membership gain.
