Paramount Global revenue up 5% to $6.92bn in Q3; Paramount+ counts 46 million subscribers globally

Paramount Global, the company previously known as ViacomCBS, posted revenue up 5% to $6.92 billion in the third quarter of 2022 ended Sept. 30. The quarterly results fell short of analysts' average estimate of $7.01bn, according to Refinitiv data quoted by Reuters.

Paramount said advertising revenue were down 2%, affecting in particular revenue of its TV Media division, which posted revenue down 5% to $4.95bn. The division includes CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon and Showtime.

Charles Koppelman, the music industry entrepreneur who changed the music publishing business with SBK Entertainment alongside Marty Bandier and Stephen Swid, died at the age of 82 on November 25.

Bucks Music Group appoints Jen Moss as a Senior Sync executive in London

British independent music publishing company Bucks Music Group has appointed Jen Moss as a Senior Sync executive. Based in London, she reports to Bucks’ Head of Sync Jonathan Tester.

BMG acquires the recording catalogue of German band Fools Garden

BMG has acquired the catalogue of recordings from German pop-rock band Fools Garden. Terms of the transaction was not disclosed.
