The UK’s DACS appoints COO Christian Zimmermann as its new Chief Executive

DACS, the Design and Artists Copyright Society, has appointed its Chief Operating Officer Christian Zimmermann as its new Chief Executive.

Zimmermann replaces Gilane Tawadros who had been Chief Executive since 2009 and who announced three months ago that she was stepping down and moving to the Whitechapel Gallery.

The UK’s PPL collected a record £283.5 million in 2023, up 4% over 2022

British neighbouring rights society PPL has collected £283.5 million (€331.25m) in 2023 from the usage of sound recordings in public spaces and media, up 4% or £10.9m on 2022. PPL said it was the highest level of income in the 90-year history of the London-based society.
