Jan Fischer appointed Chief Executive Officer of Warner Music Group’s EMP

Jan Fischer has been appointed Chief Executive Office of Warner Music Group's EMP, the online specialist music and entertainment retailers.

Fischer’s appointment as CEO follows the departure of his predecessor, Ernst Trapp, last month. Based in EMP’s headquarters in Lingen, Germany, Fischer reports to Karl Walsh, WMG's EVP and Head of Global Commerce, who is based in Los Angeles.

European Parliament’s Culture Committee adopts a report calling for ‘a fair and sustainable ecosystem for music streaming’

Organisations representing creators have welcomed the adoption by the European Parliament's Culture and Education Committee (CULT ) on November 28 of the report on “Cultural diversity and the conditions for authors in the European music streaming market” with with a majority of 23 votes in favor, 3 against and one abstention.
