Universal Music Group and SoundCloud in talks about ‘artist-centric’ model — Report

Universal Music Group is reportedly discussing with SoundCloud about an "artist-centric" royalty model for music streaming consumption, according to Bloomberg.

The report suggests that the major company and the streaming platform are “discussing changes to the standard industry royalty structure.” The two parties would “like to reach a conclusion before the end of the year." No additional details were given about the proposal.
