US court denies FTC’s preliminary injunction to block Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard

Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley of US District Court for the Northern District of California has dealt a blow to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in its attempts to block the merger between Microsoft and gaming company Activision Blizzard.

European Parliament’s Culture Committee adopts a report calling for ‘a fair and sustainable ecosystem for music streaming’

Organisations representing creators have welcomed the adoption by the European Parliament's Culture and Education Committee (CULT ) on November 28 of the report on “Cultural diversity and the conditions for authors in the European music streaming market” with with a majority of 23 votes in favor, 3 against and one abstention. The report calls for “a fair and sustainable ecosystem for music streaming in the Union”.
