Downtown Music’s Artist & Label Services division is expanding its operations in Nashville with the hiring to Jeanette Porcello as Senior Manager of A&R. In her new role, she is tasked with signing artists and labels and leading Downtown’s business development efforts in Nashville.

European Parliament’s Culture Committee adopts a report calling for ‘a fair and sustainable ecosystem for music streaming’

Organisations representing creators have welcomed the adoption by the European Parliament's Culture and Education Committee (CULT ) on November 28 of the report on “Cultural diversity and the conditions for authors in the European music streaming market” with with a majority of 23 votes in favor, 3 against and one abstention. The report calls for “a fair and sustainable ecosystem for music streaming in the Union”.

Universal Music Group seals licensing agreement with Ethiopia’s Sewasew

Universal Music Group (UMG) has confirmed the signing of a new licensing agreement with Ethiopia’s music and entertainment company Sewasew Multimedia, announced a week ago by Turned Global.
