US District Judge Jennifer Rochon from the US District Court for the Southern District of New York has dismissed a lawsuit filed by rap act Black Sheep against Universal Music Group for withholding royalties from Spotify. The judge said the claims were covered by the statute of limitations.

Daryl Hall sues John Oates to block the sale of music assets to Primary Wave

A judge in Nashville has issued an order to temporarily block the sale of music assets owned by John Oates, the longtime music partner of US performer and songwriter Daryl Hall, to Primary Wave Music.

The move was prompted by a lawsuit filed by Hall against Oates in which he argued that Oates' plan to sell off his share of a joint venture with Hall would violate the terms of a Hall & Oates business agreement, according to Associated Press.
