Investors led by New Mountain Capital acquire US rights society BMI

Investment firm New Mountain Capital is leading a group of investors to acquire US rights society Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2024, "subject to approval by BMI shareholders and customary regulatory approvals." PRS for Music extends partnership with Oracle to provide database cloud services

PRS for Music has extended its partnership with Oracle as the lead provider of cloud services for the British rights society's royalty payment database.

In 2019, PRS for Music began a two-year transformation programme to migrate its two physical data centers onto Oracle hosted multi domain cloud infrastructure, using Oracle Exadata Database Service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The migration was completed in 2021.
