The BPI announces the seven candidates standing for the three seats of designated independent representatives to BPI Council

The BPI, the trade organisation representing recorded music companies in the UK, has disclosed the names of the seven candidates who are standing for election as designated independent representatives to BPI Council.

The BPI’s Council is the London-based organisation's forum for discussing and deciding on the policy and activities of the BPI. "Over 500 of the BPI’s members are independent labels, meaning that independent members are at the heart of the BPI’s work," explained the BPI.

Universal Music Group seals licensing agreement with Ethiopia’s Sewasew

Universal Music Group (UMG) has confirmed the signing of a new licensing agreement with Ethiopia’s music and entertainment company Sewasew Multimedia, announced a week ago by Turned Global.
