OpenAI sued by online publications Raw Story, Alternet and The Intercept

OpenAI, the parent company of AI chatbot ChatGPT, has been sued in New York Federal Court by online publications Raw Story, Alternet and The Intercept for copyright infringement.
Plaintiffs accused OpenAI of allegedly using their content to train ChatGPT without a license remuneration and credits. The are seeking damages in the amount of at least $2,500 per violation, and are asking for an injunction forcing OpenAI to remove all their copyrighted material from data training sets.

The French Society of Dramatic Authors and Composers (SACD) has filed with the Paris Judicial Court a copyright infringement lawsuit against China's social network TikTok for "using copyrighted works from the SACD repertoire without authorisation," according to a statement from the Paris-based organisation.

The 42nd Civil Chamber of the Regional Court in Munich found in favour of German music rights society GEMA in a copyright infringement case against OpenAI, which was accused of using copyrighted lyrics to train its chatbot ChatGPT without a license. OpenAI plans to appeal the ruling.
