The 42nd Civil Chamber of the Regional Court in Munich found in favour of German music rights society GEMA in a copyright infringement case against OpenAI, which was accused of using copyrighted lyrics to train its chatbot ChatGPT without a license. OpenAI plans to appeal the ruling.
