CISAC’s study on the impact of AI on music and AV creators will be out Dec. 4

The International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) will unveil on December 4 the first ever global economic study on the impact of AI on creators in the music and audiovisual industries. The report, penned by PMP Strategy, looks at the way generative AI is set to have a multi-billion dollar impact on revenue streams for creators, from songwriters and composers to translators, directors and screenwriters.

ASCAP collected $1.94bn in 2025, up 6.0%, with distributions up 3.7% to $1.75bn

US music rights society ASCAP collected a record-breaking $1.94 billion in revenue in the 2025 calendar year, up 6.0% over 2024, with $1.76bn available for royalty distributions to ASCAP music creator and publisher members, a 3.7% increase over the prior year.
