Germany’s music sales up 7.8% to €2.38bn in 2024 with 78.1% from streaming

Germany's recorded music sales reached a record €2.38 billion in 2024, up 7.8% compared to the previous year. The figure includes the sale of CDs, vinyl LPs and downloads as well as streaming activity, according to trade organisation BVMI. Digital accounted for 84.1% of total sales (over €2.0bn for the first time), up 11.2% year-on-year, with 78.1% for streaming alone, 1.6% for downloads and 4.4% for other digital formats.
