Japan’s recorded music revenues were up 9% to €2.1 billion in 2022

The Japanese recorded music market grew 9% year-on-year to 307.3 billion yen (€2.2bn) in 2022, according to statistics released by the RIAJ (Recording Industry Association of Japan).
The Japanese market, the world's second largest market, which was slow to transition to streaming, is still dominated by physical sales, in particular CD sales, which accounted for 129.8 billion yen (€903m), or about 42% of the market, up 6% year-on-year.
Streaming revenue was up 24.5% year-on-year to 92.8 bn yen. ...
