PPL India wins case about exemptions to performance rights collected at weddings

The Bombay High Court has found in favour of Indian rights society Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) against the State of Goa, in a decision that clarifies the ability of rights organisation to collect performance royalties at weddings and associated events.

Dutch anti-piracy outfit BREIN granted trusted flagger status

Dutch anti-piracy organisation BREIN has been granted the status of trusted flagger by the Dutch digital services coordinator (ACM), as of 29 September 2025.
Trusted flaggers are organisations recognised by the ACM that are deemed reliable to detect, identify and report illegal content to online platforms, such as hosting providers, social media and online marketplaces. These parties are obliged to treat reports from trusted flaggers as a priority.
