GEMA plans to drop its online commission from 10% to 7% by 2027

Germany's music rights society GEMA has announced that it will be cutting its online commission on all on-demand music distribution from 10% to 7% by 2027. GEMA said this move equals to a 30% drop compared to the initial value and estimated that payouts to GEMA members for online distribution will increase "significantly" by more than €6 million per year.

Rights societies BMI and ASCAP settle with US radio collective RMLC in deals reflecting a rise in performance royalties
