Spotify and BMG signs direct, multiyear US publishing licensing agreement

Spotify’s head of music and audiobooks David Kaefer is leaving the streaming service

David Kaefer, who served as VP, Music & Audiobook Business, at Spotify, announced in a LinkedIn post that he was leaving the streaming service after over seven years.
Kaefer joined Spotify from Microsoft in 2018 as VP, Global Leader-Business Affairs VP, in charge of content licensing spanning music, podcasts and audiobooks. Charlie Hellman, currently VP, Global Head of Music Vertical since 2021, will take over from Kaefer as SVP and Global Head of Music.
