Jarett Hines and Bryson Nobles, co-founders of Music Tech Works, believe they have solved one of the critical problems facing synchronisation licensing: finding the controlling publisher and label information of music tracks to be used for syncs.
They have set up rightsholder.io, a database of over 60 million songs, ready to access for anyone involved in the licensing of music for uses in TV, film, video games, and advertising....

Bad Bunny tops Spotify Wrapped’s listing as most streamed artist in 2022

Bad Bunny's songs captured over 18.5 billion streams globally on Spotify during the period from from Jan. 1 to Oct. 31, making the Puerto Rican artist the most-streamed act globally in 2022, according to Spotify Wrapped, which compiles data from the music streaming service.

The rest of the top 5 most streamed acts includes Taylor Swift, followed by Drake, The Weeknd and BTS. It's the second year in a row that Bad Bunny tops the year-end most-streamed listing, except that he had 9.5 billion...

Apple Music encourages ISNI submissions

Apple Music is encouraging the submission of International Standard Name Identifiers (ISNIs) as part of its standard content delivery workflows.

The ISNI International Agency (ISNI-IA) said Apple informed its label partners and other music sector organisations about the decision. IFPI’s Official MENA Chart highlights the most popular streamed songs in the region

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry has launched the inaugural weekly Official MENA Chart, which was topped by the track 'Calm Down' by Nigerian artist Rema, released by Universal Music Group.
