Google inks agreements with publishers for the use of news content in Germany and France

Google has announced a series of agreements with news publishers in Germany and France, suggesting that the Alphabet-owned company is accelerating its strategy to deal directly with the producers of news content, as more European countries are implementing the European Copyright Directive, which introduced a neighbouring right for news publishers (Article 15).
