HYBE posts Q3 revenue up 80% y-o-y with growth in album sales, licensing and merchandising

HYBE, the South Korean music company behind the success of boyband BTS, has reported Q3 2021 revenue up 80% year-on-year to KRW 341 billion (approx. €250m) with an operating profit of KRW 65.6bn, (€48.0m) up 63% compared the same period of 2020.
HYBE said Q3 2021 results were driven by growth in album sales, merchandising and licensing. Album sales were up by 21% to KRW 129.7bn (€95m), largely due to strong performances from BTS new music, while merchandising and licensing revenues rose by 53%...

Kobalt signs partnership with Nigerian company Inner Circle Publishing

Independent music publisher Kobalt has signed a new deal with Nigerian publishing company Inner Circle Publishing (INCP). Details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Kobalt said the agreement marks "a significant move in expanding Kobalt’s footprint within the African music market." Inner Circle Publishing was co-founded by Caleb Oyolola and Promise Dennis earlier this year.
