BMAT acquires Manage Ad Music to provide performance royalty admin services

Data management company BMAT Music Innovators has acquired Manage Ad Music (MAM) a company specialising in the collection of music royalties founded by Nan Wilson in 2000 (pictured, left).

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The company will become a new US-based division of BMAT offering extra services under the name MAM BMAT, with Wilson named President of MAM BMAT.

PPL paid out £244.9 million to performers and labels in 2022, up 7.1% over 2021

British neighbouring rights society PPL has distributed £244.9 million (€278.3m) to its members — performers and owners of sound recordings — and other collective management organisations in 2022, up 7.1% over 2021's £228.7m.

PPL said the figure marks the second highest total of monies paid out by PPL in a calendar year, the highest being £260.2m in 2020, a total achieved thanks to the record collections of £271.8m the previous year in 2019, before the adverse impact of the COVID pandemic.

Orfium acquires cue sheets management company Soundmouse

Music technology platform Orfium has acquired London-based Soundmouse. The deal — the terms of which were not disclosed — brings together "the global market leaders in digital music and broadcast rights management and reporting," according to Orfium.

Revelator picks Stripe to provide NFT payment infrastructure

Rights management platform Revelator has partnered with Stripe to provide payment infrastructure for NFTs.

Stripe will allow people to use a credit card to purchase digital collectibles directly from artists, with no additional digital wallet required.
