Christine Lidon elected President of the Board of Directors of France’s SACEM

French songwriter and performer Christine Lidon has been elected President of the Board of Directors of rights society SACEM for a one-year mandate during the organisation's Annual General Meeting. Lidon is the first woman to occupy this position. She replaces composer Serge Perathoner, who was seeking another mandate. On Tuesday June 20, the 210,800 members of SACEM elected the Board of Directors, which is made up of authors, composers and music publishers, each serving on a rotating basis

PPL distributed £277.7 million in 2024 to performers and recording rights holders
