Canada’s SOCAN cruises through 2022 with collections up 16% to CA$484m thanks to an ‘upward trajectory’ in digital revenue

SOCAN has experienced a significant increase in collections in 2022 compared to the previous year, with the Canadian music rights society posting record revenue of CA$484 million (€332.25m), up 16% year-over-year, from music licenses for the use of the world’s music in Canada.

peermusic renews multi-year partnership with digital music licensing hub ICE

peermusic and digital licensing hub ICE have renewed their multi-year partnership that will see the ICE Core platform handle online representation of the music publishers' repertoire.

peermusic has been a direct member of the ICE Core since 2018. The partnership has resulted in "significantly increasing" the company's royalties through the ICE hub, with an average Year-on-Year of more than 60%, according to the company.

ESMAA partners with Audoo to deploy the Audio Meters technology in MENA region

Gulf-based music rights organisation ESMAA is partnering with music tech company Audoo to rollout Audoo's music recognition technology, the Audio Meters, in the Middle East to accurately capture public performances. Indie labels and performers’ organisations call for the EU to find a legislative solution to recording’s performance rights payments
