USCO extends the deadline for submissions on artificial intelligence and copyright

The US Copyright Office has decided to extend the deadline to submit comments in response to its August 30, 2023, notice of inquiry regarding artificial intelligence and copyright.

The USCO said the new deadlines "will ensure that members of the public have sufficient time to prepare fulsome responses to the Office's questions so the Office can proceed with its inquiry with the benefit of a complete record of public input and feedback."

As the European Union is preparing to adopt new legislation on artificial intelligence contained in the AI Act, tech companies and organisations representing the tech sector and the creative community continue to push for two different visions on how AI should be regulated in the EU.

European Parliament’s Culture Committee adopts a report calling for ‘a fair and sustainable ecosystem for music streaming’

Organisations representing creators have welcomed the adoption by the European Parliament's Culture and Education Committee (CULT ) on November 28 of the report on “Cultural diversity and the conditions for authors in the European music streaming market” with with a majority of 23 votes in favor, 3 against and one abstention.
