GEMA sues Suno for using its repertoire without license and remuneration

GEMA has filed a lawsuit against Suno with the Munich Regional Court on 21 January 2025, in which the ​German music rights society has accused the American provider of AI-generated audio content of processing protected recordings of songs from GEMA's repertoire in the tool without license nor paying remuneration to rights holders.

PPL partners with Salt to match music recordings’ usage data

British neighbouring rights society PPL has entered in a partnership with music technology company Salt to implement Salt Match to match music usage data to recordings in PPL’s Repertoire Database.
