Scott Borchetta exits HYBE America and plans to relaunch Big Machine Records

US entrepreneur and music executive Scott Borchetta has announced his departure from HYBE America after five years with the North American arm of Korean entertainment conglomerate HYBE. Borchett launched independent music company Big Machine Label Group in 2005 and was acquired in 2019 by Ithaca Holdings, the investment vehicle of Scooter Braun. Ithaca was in turn sold to HYBE in 2021. Since the acquisition, Borchetta remained as CEO of BMLG.

Universal Music Group confirms receiving ‘unsolicited and non-binding’ acquisition proposal from Pershing Square

Universal Music Group has confirmed that its Board of Directors has received "an unsolicited and non-binding proposal" from Pershing Square Capital Management, L.P. to acquire the company for €56 billion in cash and stock.
