BMI acquires from Orfium music cue sheet platform Soundmouse

US music rights society BMI has signed an agreement with rights management company Orfium to acquire Soundmouse, a music cue sheet reporting and monitoring platform for the broadcast and entertainment production industries. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. BMI plans to operate Soundmouse as an independent company and will remain one of its biggest clients. Moldova’s State Agency for Intellectual Property suspends AUTORITY’s activities as a collective management organisation

The State Agency for Intellectual Property (AGEPI) from the Republic of Moldova has suspended the activities of collective management organisation AUTORITY, effective from June 11, 2026 for a period of six months. AUTORITY was initially approved as a collective management organisation for the management of copyright in musical and audiovisual works by the AGEPI on March 6, 2023. Global Music Rights sues Music Choice for alleged willful infringement

Privately-owned US music rights society Global Music Rights (GMR) has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in the US District Court for the Central District of California against online radio operator Music Choice for “repeatedly and willfully" infringing upon GMR repertoire.
