SGAE’s 2025 distributions up 3.1% to €360m with collections up 1% to €393m

Spain's General Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE) has collected a record €393.4 million in 2025, up 1% over 2024, and has distributed €360 million in royalties to its members in 2025, a 3.1% increase year-over-year. High Court affirms the need for an IPRS license covering compositions when communicating recordings to the public

The Calcutta High Court has found in favour of the Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS) by dismissing telecom provider Vodafone Idea's appeal of a lower court decision which ruled that a separate license from IPRS is required for underlying music and lyrics from recordings when they are communicated to the public.
