Spotify will pass on the new streaming tax in France to its consumers with a price hike

Sweden-based streaming service Spotify announced that it plans to "adjust" the subscription fee to its Premium tier in France to compensate for a recently-voted 1.2% tax on the revenues of music streaming services. The proceeds of the tax will finance the Centre National de la Musique (CNM), a government-owned agency supporting and promoting the French music sector.
