Authors Guild welcomes Amazon’s decision to modify its return policy for ebooks

The Authors Guild has disclosed that online retailer Amazon has agreed to alter its return policy for eBooks.
So far, Amazon's return policy allowed readers to return ebooks within seven days of purchase, regardless of the amount read. Self-published or indie authors complained that they were losing on revenue twice when Amazon users were returning their books before the seven-day deadline, first because a returned book is a lost sale, and secondly because they had to incur the return costs.

Getty Images, one of the largest marketplaces for visual content, has announced a global multi‑year licensing agreement with AI company Perplexity. The deal covers display of images from Getty Images across Perplexity’s AI‑powered search and discovery tools.
Getty said the agreement gives Perplexity "rights to display images from Getty Images across its AI‑powered search engine tools, enhancing user experience and improving image attribution."

Online video growth will boost global TV and video market to reach $1 trillion by 2030

The combined global online video and traditional TV markets are set to reach $1 trillion in annual revenue by 2030, according to two new Omdia reports — 'Global Streaming: Key trends 2025–30' and 'Pay TV & Online Video: Global'.  
The estimated figure includes revenue from subscriptions, on-demand transactions and advertising. During the period 2025-20230, market growth will come from online video, as pay TV growth will be flat.
