IAEL to hold its Annual Meeting at the Amsterdam Dance Event Oct. 20-21
IAEL, the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers, will host its first Legal Summit and IAEL Annual Meeting at the Amsterdam Dance Event on October 20-21, 2022.
IAEL used to hold its Summit and Annual Meeting at MIDEM in Cannes, recalled Jeff Liebenson, President of the IAEL, but since the closure of the event, and with the effects of the Covid pandemic, IAEL no longer had a residency.

“For 45 years, entertainment lawyers from key international music markets came to our IAEL meetings at MIDEM to discuss the latest legal issues facing our industry.,” said Liebenson. “This now is an exciting new chapter for the IAEL, as we meet for the first time in Amsterdam, which also will be our first meeting together in person since before the pandemic.”
A new relationship with ADE
“We have forged a new relationship with the Amsterdam Dance Event which has welcomed the IAEL with open arms,” added Liebenson.
The IAEL usually publishes an annual book on a compelling international legal issue facing the music business. Its new book, ‘The International Disposition of Music Catalogues’ will be released at its IAEL Legal Summit in Amsterdam.

The Summit also will feature a Legal Update on the latest international developments having an impact on the industry, the IAEL Masterclass focusing on issues in electronic music, and the IAEL Annual General Meeting.
“Change is inevitable, and change is good if you embrace it,” said Liebenson. “We see this change as an opportunity to drive the IAEL even further into the future.”
