IMPF report: Indie publishers made up for 26.3% of the global publishing market in 2024 or €2.7bn in value, up 5.1% y-o-y

Independent music publishers saw their global revenue grow to €2.7 billion in 2024, a 5.1% rise compared to the previous year, according to the 'IMPF Global Market View 2025', published by the Independent Music Publishers Forum, the global trade body for independent music publishers. Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS) coordinated a legal campaign at the end of 2025 to ensure that major hospitality groups secured music licenses and respected licensed repertoire for the end of the year festivities. Former BMI VP of Writer/Publisher Relations Roger Sovine has died aged 82

Roger Sovine, who served for many years several decades at US music rights society BMI in Nashville, has died December 23, 2025 at the age of 82.
